The Additive Project is free and open to improvement. As part of a community of practice around introducing young people to STEAM entrepreneurship, we are always searching for innovative, effective partners to help develop engaging, accessible approaches to programming. As we add projects and curricula, we’ll be building a user/developer forum on GitHub, and looking for feedback, ideas, tweaks and tips.

If you or your organization would like to help by piloting materials and providing feedback, or if you have some great concepts you would like us to explore, please let us know. If you are a teacher, facilitator or user already working in this area and have experience to share, or a funder who can help us build capacity to produce these learning tools, we would love to hear from you. Finally, we always want to hear from hardware and software developers whose tools might be useful for carrying out these projects.

MCG Youth & Arts’ mission is to educate and inspire urban youth through the arts. As leaders + innovators in out-of-school-time (OST) learning, MCG offers courses in Digital Arts, Ceramics, Photography, and Design. Students also participate in career + college exposure activities, and exhibits + workshops by internationally renowned artists. Additionally, MCG Youth & Arts offers a number of educational activities to teachers, principals and the community. Our first curriculum on 3D Printing was developed in partnership with MCG Youth & Arts through the summer and fall of 2014, giving us the access to great kids and fantastic educators and allowing us to build a better model.

The Additive Project is currently providing their 3-D printing curriculum and training for mentors in The Labs, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh's teen-only creative trechnology program. Through The Labs, teens have access to equipment, software and trained artist-mentors in an innovative learning environment with the focus on creativity and creation.
